Pope Francis is already
walking on his own
and the results of medical tests show that the evolution is
positive,
although he had a few lines of fever this Wednesday.
This was specified in the latest medical report released by the Vatican after the colon operation of the Pontiff, who has been admitted since Sunday at the Gemelli Polyclinic hospital in Rome.
"His Holiness Pope Francis has spent a quiet day, feeding and moving
autonomously,
" the Vatican revealed in the daily statement with which it updates the state of health of the Supreme Pontiff.
Although the Holy See specified that he had a few
tenths of fever
late in the afternoon
, he added that the routine tests he was subjected to this morning, microbiological tests and a CT scan of the chest and abdomen, gave a satisfactory result.
In addition, this Wednesday afternoon the Pope sent a message to the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Child Neurosurgery of the hospital to show "his paternal closeness to the
little patients,
" as revealed by the Vatican.

Francisco continues with scheduled treatments and oral feeding.
In addition, the Vatican specified that at this specific moment the Holy Father "directs his gaze to all those who suffer, expressing his closeness to the sick, especially those most in need of care."
Francisco spent his fourth night in a room on the tenth floor of the Gemelli Polyclinic hospital in Rome, where he entered last Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to undergo a surgical intervention that was already scheduled in advance.
He is admitted to the same plant where John Paul II was after suffering an attack in 1981. Francisco's operation lasted three hours and general anesthesia was applied.
Your schedule for the next few days will be reduced.
During the month of July, as usual, the Wednesday general hearings were suspended.
The Pontiff's next international trip is scheduled for September 12-15 to Slovakia, he announced.
Since his papacy began, Francisco
had
only
had cataract surgery in December 2019
.
On that occasion, it was a simple, routine eye intervention, performed with a laser, which did not mean that the Pope had to be admitted for more than a few hours, which did not influence his schedule.
The Pontiff himself warned him during a visit to the Roman prison of Regina Coeli.
"He does a renovation well because at my age, for example, the cataracts come and the reality is not well: next year I will have to have an operation," he himself had commented while talking with the detainees of the Rome prison.

The operation
Francis underwent
a three-hour intervention Sunday
for what the Vatican described as a narrowing of the large intestine.
According to the Italian press, the surgeons who operated on the Pope on Sunday
performed a laparoscopy
, which allows working in the abdomen area thanks to a small incision.
The presence of a scar from a previous operation in the same area forced doctors to change technique and proceed to a traditional, more invasive surgical operation with a longer recovery.
However, it was not necessary to resort to a colostomy, which consists of artificially opening the colon so that the stool is evacuated in a bag, and the Pope also did not have a fever after the intervention, according to the same sources.
