District - This route is impressive: In less than three weeks, the 1602 participants from the Miesbach district have already covered 294 163 kilometers on this year's city bike tour.
The eight participating municipalities alone cover 275,750 kilometers with their 1,501 drivers.
101 citizens from the other municipalities have so far participated in the district portal with 18,413 kilometers.
In total, 7.4 times were driven around the world in less than three weeks.
City cycling will continue until tomorrow, Friday - the final spurt has begun.
When looking at the kilometers driven, Holzkirchen is clearly ahead.
119,623 kilometers had been collected until yesterday evening.
Miesbach follows in second place with 50 092 kilometers ahead of Otterfing (27 663) and Hausham (26 821).
Behind it are Weyarn (18 767), Gmund (11 580), Bad Wiessee (11 689) and Rottach-Egern (9515).
Holzkirchen, which is taking part for the third time, is also great among the participants.
There are 561 people from the market town - Miesbach follows with 306 active members ahead of Otterfing (166), Hausham (149), Weyarn (102), Gmund (95), Bad Wiessee (77) and Rottach (45).
Climate protection manager Antonia Rüede-Passul, who organizes city cycling at the district office, is very proud of the result so far: "The numbers are very good, and above all, the commitment has increased a lot." The cooperation with the municipalities is great.
All of this is reflected in the figures.
The most impressive values are found in the tons of CO2 saved.
So far, 43 tonnes have been avoided here, assuming that the distances would otherwise have been covered by car.
Holzkirchen contributes the lion's share with 18 tons at vor Miesbach (7), Otterfing and Hausham (4 each).
And city cycling is not over yet.
The kilometers driven can still be entered online until Friday, July 23rd.
