Tunisia - Sana
A spokeswoman for the Tunisian Ministry of Health, Nissaf Ben Ali, confirmed today that the country's health system has collapsed with the intensive care departments being filled, doctors' fatigue and the rapid spread of the Corona pandemic.
Nassaf told Radio Mosaique, "We are in a catastrophic situation. The health system has collapsed. You can only find a bed with great difficulty. We are struggling to provide oxygen. The doctors are suffering from unprecedented fatigue, adding that the boat is sinking, calling on everyone to unite efforts."
Tunisia recorded nearly 10,000 new infections with the Corona virus and 134 deaths yesterday, in a record daily increase since the beginning of the pandemic, with growing fears that the country will not be able to control the outbreak.
The Tunisian authorities are currently facing difficulty in dealing with the increase in cases of corona and have imposed general isolation in some cities since last week, but they have refused to impose general isolation at the national level due to the economic crisis.
The total number of corona infections in Tunisia rose to 465,000, and deaths to 15,700 cases.
