DWD provides advance information on severe weather before severe thunderstorms - "multi-cell clusters" possible
In addition to the warning of heavy rain, the DWD is also issuing a “advance information on severe thunderstorms”. This is an indication of a weather situation with a high potential for severe weather. "It should enable the timely preparation of protective measures," said the DWD. At noon there can be strong thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail accumulations and squalls in the affected regions.
These thunderstorms can grow together to form “multi-cell clusters”.
Such “multicells” can cause severe weather phenomena in the form of medium-sized hail, heavy rain with floods and weak tornadoes *.
According to the weather map, such weather phenomena are to be expected especially in the Nuremberg region.
Just yesterday a similar weather phenomenon caused a stir in Gunzenhausen.
