- Meanwhile, the camera mast at the level crossing in Westenhofen is gone. At the beginning of last week it was dismantled, reports Ferdinand Klettner from the engineering office Infra when asked by our newspaper. However, this no longer has any positive effects on the flow of traffic. "It's too late for that now," says Klettner. As reported, the mast belonging to the barrier system stood in the way of widening the temporary lane in the first few weeks of the construction site, so that it was only one-lane and caused long traffic jams due to the traffic lights on the B307. At this stage, the construction companies themselves need the space to continue the work.

Deutsche Bahn is now also involved in this.

The companies commissioned by the group arrived on Monday lunchtime, reports Klettner.

“At first we didn't know what exactly they were doing.” Deutsche Bahn did not comment on our newspaper either, despite repeated inquiries.

That is why he complained about a construction plan in order to be able to better assess the effects on road construction, said Klettner.

It then became clear on site that the Deutsche Bahn companies were laying the foundations for the new signal masts.

“They reach a depth of three meters,” says the site manager.

At the same time, conduits would be laid for the cables that will also control the traffic lights on the northern side of the B 307 (at the Prinzenweg Inn).

According to Klettner, road construction is also concentrated on the sidewalk on the north side. “We hope that we will get the paving stones on time despite delivery problems.” The work must be completed by July 22nd at the latest, including on the railway side. Then the asphalting of the base course is planned before the traffic and the construction site virtually switch sides. Even then, drivers should no longer hope for a two-lane lane. The completion on the south side along the level crossing will take up the entire width. "We have to be able to let off steam there," emphasizes Klettner. Only then can the schedule be adhered to, according to which the surface course will be applied in the first two weeks of September with the B 307 fully closed. For this time,The Schlierseer managing director Jörn Alkofer reported to the local council that a diversion concept will have to be drawn up so that, for example, the Breitenbach industrial estate and the camping site are not cut off.

From now on it should get a little better in Westenhofen, hopes Alkofer.

But the next bottleneck is already looming.

The redesign and renewal of the level crossing in Neuhaus will begin next week.
