The bad weather in July continues: From Thursday to Friday there is a risk of storms in southeast and east Germany with heavy rain and thunderstorms.

On Thursday and Friday (July 9th) a low called Arno is moving from Austria over Poland towards the Baltic Sea, which brings "very humid air to Germany", as Trippler explains further.
The result: On Friday morning there should be heavy showers from the south to the east of the Federal Republic.
Even more: "In some places there can be heavy rain," says Trippler.

Even more: Already in the night of Friday there is an increased risk of storms in southeast Germany.

red warning level
then applies between Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg and the Saxon state capital Dresden
. "There can be thunderstorms there that bring 30 liters per square meter in a short time," says the meteorologist.
If the thunderstorms "grow together", even 40 to 60 liters per square meter are possible over several hours.

In western Germany, too, there could be strong thunderstorms on Friday night, but "with not that much rain," says Trippler.
In parts of Bavaria and Saxony, however, there is a warning of sometimes violent thunderstorms.
For Friday during the day, the
DWD
announced
a storm risk for Thuringia, Saxony, eastern Hesse and central and northern Franconia.
Here, too, “heavy heavy rain” is expected, explains meteorologist Trippler.
At least a look at the weather at the weekend and the beginning of the coming week gives hope: For example, in Dresden and Saxony it should be summery again with occasional sunshine and maximum temperatures of up to 29 degrees on Monday in eastern Germany.
