The beginning of the three-week summer wonder was heralded with a small unofficial opening on Wednesday.

Freising - Up to 160 people are allowed to watch the concerts and performances as part of the summer miracle 2021 in the Freising district court garden - "spread out generously under the trees", according to Lord Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher.

At least 160 - even if the mayor made an informative subordinate sentence at the unofficial opening of the three-week event on Wednesday evening: "We are not a football game."

First events canceled

The start of the program on Thursday fell into (rain) water: the youth culture award ceremony and the Boppin B concert had to be canceled due to the weather.

The youth culture award will now be presented on Thursday, July 15, 6 p.m. in the district court garden.

And the band Boppin B. is coming to the Lindenkeller beer garden on Sunday, July 18th at 7.30 p.m.

Party together

But the first starting shot had already been given in advance: the organizers, organizers and city councilors met in a closed society of a maximum of 50 people in the district court garden on Wednesday evening to celebrate the summer miracle and "leave the burden of work behind" as Eschenbacher put it.

The town hall chief praised and thanked everyone involved “went to great lengths” to get the program off the ground.

A potpourri

While the town band sent out one or two musical greetings in a small cast, cultural advisor Susanne Günther described the program of the summer wonder as a “potpourri of different genres” with something for everyone - including the children.

The only blues that one had in 2020 was the "Corona-Blues", Günther looked back.

And because “canned music” is just ravioli for weeks (“At some point you don't like it anymore”), she is very much looking forward to music, cabaret, theater & Co. live.

Important: In addition to the appearance of the Well brothers and the Tom & Häns concert, tickets are still available.

After that, “Get together” was the order of the day - that is, meeting in the secluded garden under the trees with a glass of sparkling wine or a beer.

And even if some things are still forbidden in Corona times, one thing, the mayor emphasized, is not: “Mosquito repellants!” According to the ideas of all those involved, the rain should be forbidden on the performance days.

However, should it have to be canceled due to the weather, the city will announce this on its homepage or via the social media channels, said Eschenbacher.
