Capacity in gyms, new sports facilities, renovation of the community center and traffic: these were the most important topics at the citizens' meeting in Gernlinden.
Almost 50 listeners came.
Gernlinden - During the pandemic, the Gernlinden community center has become the community's event location - there is enough space there, and more than mere gatherings would currently not be possible in the hall even without corona restrictions.
Mayor Hans Seidl reported that the renovation and fire protection retrofitting will probably take the next three years.
It is true that at least the hall and kitchen are going to be in normal operation again this year.
But then there is no economy for a long time.
The restaurant must be completely separated from the other areas for the future.
That takes time and is expensive.
There are enough other major tasks in the district.
For example the new pedestrian bridge over the S-Bahn tracks including ramps.
Impending costs: up to nine million euros.
Sports facilities
In the discussion, several citizens spoke out on the subject of sports facilities.
The capacities in the hall at the Gernlinden elementary school were exhausted, it said.
The district needs a second hall - the TSV wants to get involved here.
Seidl said that a second hall could be built on the football field at TSV.
Then the municipality would at least not have to buy any land for the project.
Regarding the schedule, the town hall chief said that the local council had to commit to building a new hall in Gernlinden and clarify the location.
Problems: There are currently containers for lunchtime care on the soccer field, and there are also concerns from the nearby housing estate about a gym at this place.
Nevertheless, the project has been targeted for from 2023, according to Seidl.
Another woman said the new triple gym in Maisach was already fully occupied again, and in the main town too, more space was needed for children, senior citizens and clubs. Therefore, she criticized the fact that a medical center was planned at Strasserwinkel - exactly at the place where a gym was planned. Seidl said that a hall could be built next to it, but first a sports facility was needed for Gernlinden.
A woman spoke to Maisacher Strasse: You want a speed limit of 30. As is well known, this is currently not legally possible.
Now, according to Seidl, the municipality wants to try to slow down the speed with traffic islands.
The resident said the neighbors would continue to offset their cars as long as there was no other speed reduction solution.
In addition, there was a request for a unilateral parking ban on the pavement-free Graf-Toerring-Straße: to protect pedestrians and cyclists.

The citizens' meeting for Malching and Germerswang on July 15 in the Gernlinden community center will only take place in bad weather.
