It was undoubtedly the most applauded show of the 41st Montpellier Danse festival.
Well Named.
As usual, Angelin Preljocaj knew how to touch the spectators with the mixture of dance and intelligence of which he has the secret.

With him, in addition to having had a great time, the public has the impression of having learned something. This time, the choreographer from Aix is inspired by a lesson that the earthy Gilles Deleuze gave in the 1980s on
Spinoza's
Ethics
, and mixes the words of the thinker, sometimes very serious, sometimes comical, the roars of the Jimi Hendrix guitar. As if Preljocaj sought to establish a parallel between the thought of the philosopher on movement and immanence, and the music of the American guitarist.
Echoing the words of Gilles Deleuze and in perfect harmony with this music, the dancers express with their whole body the quest for eternity and the questioning of the future of each one, individually, according to the path he chooses.
“Knowing how to swim is also a conquest of existence,”
says Deleuze while the dancers, with extremely natural gestures, elevate us to an aesthetic apotheosis.
For an hour and eight minutes in the Agora de Montpellier, Preljocaj amazed and enchanted.
The play will be performed on July 12 and 13 in Aix-en-Provence.
