A lightning strike triggered a roof fire in Irschenberg late on Thursday evening.
More than 80 firefighters fought the flames for hours.

- The storm that swept over the Miesbach district on Thursday evening, July 8th, caused a lightning strike in Irschenberg.
At 11:05 p.m., the integrated control center received several calls about a roof fire in the Irschenberg district of Oberhasling.

The volunteer fire brigades from Irschenberg and the surrounding communities immediately made their way to the scene of the incident.
When they arrived there, the helpers noticed that a strong smoke development could already be noticed from the roof structure.
The emergency services immediately began the extinguishing work.

The residents were in the house while the fire was developing, but were able to leave it independently in good time.
However, they suffered slight smoke poisoning and had to be treated by the rescue service.
After about two hours, around 85 fire fighters managed to extinguish the fire completely.
Fire in Irschenberg: lightning strike makes the house uninhabitable
The police currently estimate the damage to property at around 200,000 euros.
The residents had to temporarily leave the house completely, it is currently uninhabitable.
According to initial investigations, the cause of the fire is a lightning strike.
The Miesbach criminal investigation department takes over the further investigations.
