Police arrested a 34-year-old Bnei Brak resident this evening (Thursday) on suspicion of injecting drops of the suspected substance as cannabis into a probe attached to his baby son - while he was hospitalized at Safra Children's Hospital in Sheba in Tel Hashomer.

This, about two months after the same suspect took his son, who was then only ten days old, without a permit from the preterm birth department at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv - and transferred him by electric bicycle to Sheba.

Safra Hospital in Sheba stated that they "continue to treat with dedication the baby who came to us about two months ago, and cooperate fully with the Israel Police in whatever is required."

At the end of the investigation, the suspect's father will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing on the extension of his detention.

According to sources involved in the details of the previous incident investigation, the father claimed that his infant son was not treated properly.

He disconnected his son from the devices to which he was connected and thus put him in danger of death.

The baby's mother testified at the hospital and was not suspected of involvement in the abduction.

Ichilov Hospital said in a response at the time that "a well-known father with a medical background abducted his premature son from the crib at the hospital where he was hospitalized, and fled with him despite the staff's opposition outside the ward. "Israel immediately began searching and finally the father was located at the entrance to Sheba Hospital, where he was arrested and his baby son was immediately hospitalized in a stable condition. The hospital began investigating the incident and reported it to all relevant parties."
