The Ministry of Health estimates that without restrictions, within two months, there will be between 300-400 critically ill patients in hospitals across the country.
This is against the background of the Corona Cabinet's decision to measure the number of critically ill patients, rather than the average number of verified patients, as has been the case so far.
At a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (Wednesday), senior Ministry of Health officials explained the implications of the decision to examine restrictions based on difficult patients and stated that if this is the approach taken by ministers, aggressive and severe restrictions will be needed, instead of light restrictions at the moment, so hospitals do not collapse.
Thus, if we reach 300 critically ill patients, the ministers will be forced to impose a fourth closure on Israel during the Tishrei holidays.

The corona vaccine and the large number of vaccinated people in Israel are having an effect, and therefore the condition of the critically ill is not yet seen.
According to the ministry's data, we will have about 1,000 verified people a day at the beginning of the week, and by the end of the month there are expected to be about 3,000 verified people per day, and in two months the number of daily verified people will double and even reach ten thousand verified.

Yesterday, criticism was leveled at the Ministry of Health and the policy of publishing data on critically ill patients, claiming that there is a gap between the number of patients he advertises and the number in hospitals.
The Ministry of Health stated in response that the allegations were incorrect "without examining the details in depth, thus misleading the public."
At the office, we last night updated the number of corona patients hospitalized in critical condition from 46 to 37.
The ministry provided details about seven of the nine patients who are no longer defined as in critical condition, two of whom died, three whose condition improved, one was discharged to a geriatric institution, and another patient whose condition did not improve - but at the family's request moved to community care.

Meanwhile, the number of serious patients jumped by 50% this week - from 26 to 39, the Ministry of Health updated.
However, today there has been a decline in the number of verified daily: after three consecutive days in which over 500 people were infected, in the past day only 450 were infected.
According to the Ministry of Health, 2,905 people were diagnosed with corona in the past week - an increase of about 171% from last week.
This is the highest figure since the beginning of April.
The total number of people infected in Israel since the outbreak was 845,123.
At the same time, the number of hospitalized patients increased by 18 to 70 in total.
However, the number of respirators across the country has actually dropped, and stands at 12 people (17 last week).
Five corona patients died last week.
6,434 people died in the outbreak of the plague in Israel.
