Weßling - The construction of the new elementary school in Weßling is going well: “We are on schedule, also with regard to the costs,” said Mayor Michael Sturm happily in a special meeting of the local council on Wednesday evening. Weßling - The construction of the new elementary school in Weßling is going well: “We are on schedule, also with regard to the costs,” said Mayor Michael Sturm happily in a special meeting of the local council on Wednesday evening.

There was almost something historical about it: In the future, the project management for the Meilinger Weg project will be in the hands of Florian Zarbo.

At the beginning of the meeting there were flowers and words of thanks for the former councilor Roland von Rebay. He tackled the school building project in 2017 following his commitment to building the bypass. Together with Sturm, who was vice mayor at the time, he founded the steering group in the local council. From then on there was endless discussion, but the project got going. It was time - the people of Weßling had been talking about building a new elementary school for more than 20 years. Von Rebay now looked back a little wistfully: "It was also a very nice and intense time," he said yesterday to Starnberg Merkur. He will assist Florian Zarbo as a consultant if necessary.

In the future, all threads will come together at Zarbo, the building owner is the municipality. The technical management is in the hands of Matthias Riederer from Seefeld, traffic issues are handled by the Breiter civil engineering project consultancy from Gräfelfing. As usual, the architects Hess / Talhof / Kusmierz are also on board. Zarbo was pleased with a “very competent and good team” that he had already got to know in the past few days.

Sturm was also in good spirits. Of course, there had already been problems at the beginning of the construction work. There was no building material to isolate the floor. "We had to use a different material, for which the statics had to be recalculated." With great commitment from all those involved, it was possible to continue working. Sturm is not yet worried that the schoolhouse will be made of wood. "Hopefully we will be lucky with a timely tender." The budget is currently being adhered to: the school is estimated at around 14 million euros, the additional approved reserve is 1.75 million euros.

However, there was still a discussion about the roof structure. Because the community will soon have to make a decision about a photovoltaic system on the roof. As explained by Rebay yesterday, she has three options. “Either we only cover our own needs. Or we can fill the southern half and eat. Or we cover the entire roof. The power output is considerable with 200 kWp. ”The latter option is contemporary - but the most expensive. Nevertheless, the local council has spoken out in favor of them. It is currently being examined how this can be economically implemented.

Rasso von Rebay (FW) insisted on a target that he was not satisfied with this "insane optimism".

He made suggestions a year ago, but prices went through the roof afterwards.

“We have to know beforehand what we want.

The architect has to come up with a much cheaper solution. ”However, Roland von Rebay saw no cause for concern:“ We have a good, experienced architect.

Let's give him the leap of faith. "

A meeting will take place on July 28th to advance the roof planning.

In a special meeting on August 31, the municipal council is to decide.
