With the falling corona numbers, more normality is returning to the spa town.

On the weekend of July 10th and 11th, the city of Bad Tölz is organizing two fresh air events.

Bad Tölz - Due to the corona-related planning uncertainties and pandemic requirements, it was quiet in the spa town for over a year.

Hardly any events, almost no public actions.

The joy at a press conference in the Tölzer town hall last Monday was all the greater, when the city's plans for the coming weekend were announced by Mayor Ingo Mehner (CSU).

Because there are two events on the agenda: the “Health Festival” on the 5th birthday of the Vitality Center and the “Sport in the City” day of action on the occasion of the reopening of the City Museum.

"It finally brings back a piece of normal life," said Mehner.

5th anniversary of the vitality center and day of action "Sport in the city"

It starts on Saturday, July 10th, with the sports action day from the “Stadt.Museum.Sommer” series of events. Based on the motto "Tölz as a sports city", various Tölz clubs are planning hands-on activities and performances in three areas. "Due to the pandemic, there are sporting activities of the clubs at different times of the day at the Winzerer Memorial, the Isar promenade or the Marienbrunnen", explains the deputy spa director Susanne Frey-Allgaier. The city museum will bridge the gap between “sport today and in the past,” reports Elisabeth Hinterstocker, director of the Tölzer city museum. “We have placed the focus on the sports of ice hockey, skiing and the folding boat yard.” The latter is a sport that is no longer performed and whose cradle is in Bad Tölz.According to Hinterstocker, “antiquities” are also waiting for the visitors. In addition, the museum shows something about the traditional Bavarian sport "Stecklplatteln". To make the museum easy to find, the path and entrance are marked with old skis and boats.

Events in Bad Tölz: Everything revolves around sport and health

The shops are also joining the day of action - with sporting equipment in many shop windows and longer opening times, as business promoter Sandra Hermann announces.

There are two open-air concerts in the evening.

On the one hand by the band "MaxJosef" at the Winzerer Monument in Markstrasse, on the other hand "Hasta la vista" is performing on the Isar promenade.

One day later the city celebrates the health festival on the occasion of the 5th birthday of the vitality center. A colorful program is planned with lectures, cooking shows and children's program items, as Cornelia Hüfner, Head of Health Management said. Ingo Mehner sees the Vitality Center as an "essential point in the new Tölzer hotel culture". Because: “The development is clearly in the direction of health and active tourism. To this end, prevention has been declared a compulsory benefit for statutory health insurance companies, ”said Mehner. This is a sign of “having bet on the right horse” on this point. Spa director Brita Hohenreiter emphasized that over 900 individual events were offered in the past year alone. In addition, one notices the great popularity of the new Kneipp garden. "It is well received and we findthat Kneipp therapy and health are very trendy. ”The open-air events should not only bring life to the city, but also boost shops, restaurants and tourism after the grueling lockdown months.
