A senior American official will arrive in Israel for talks on the mechanism for transferring Qatari money to Gaza

The holder of the Israeli-Palestinian case at the US State Department, Eddie Amar, will pay a five-day visit to Jerusalem and Ramallah on Sunday, during which he will discuss with senior officials the reconstruction of Gaza and the policy of demolishing houses in the West Bank.

The holder of the Israeli-Palestinian case at the US State Department, Hadi Amar, will visit Jerusalem and Ramallah on Sunday and hold talks with senior members of the new government in Israel and with Palestinian officials - Walla!

Israeli officials said one of the reasons for Amar's visit was to get to know the new officials in the Israeli government in person, as well as to hear about the new government's policy regarding the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. "Punitive measures such as house demolitions increase tensions at a time when everyone needs to act to maintain calm."

One of the main issues that Omar is expected to raise in his talks in Ramallah is the internal political crisis in the Palestinian Authority following the death of political activist Nizar Banat.

In recent weeks, there have been unusual demonstrations in several West Bank cities against the Palestinian Authority.

The demonstrators called on Abu Mazen to resign and PA security forces suppressed the demonstrations by force.

The Biden administration has criticized the conduct of the Palestinian Authority and its security forces both in public and in private talks with senior Palestinian officials.

U.S. diplomats have made it clear to senior PA officials that they expect them to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation, and have pressured them to begin reforming security apparatus and to refrain from anti-democratic measures.
