Tennant - A powerful tornado of fire was recently filmed in the Tennant Forest Fire in Northern California.

The recordings show how a “vortex of fire” blows smoke and fire into the sky.

The pictures are spectacular.

“Here is a video of a vortex from the Tennant Fire on June 29th.

According to an IMET poll, this was likely the rotation our radar picked up on the 29th.

Fire tornado in the USA: eddies detected on radar

In a previous tweet, NWS Medford posted the said radar image and wrote: "Our radar showed an anti-cyclonic rotation on the 29th, as shown by the red outgoing and green incoming winds in the radar image below."

A fire tornado is "a spinning spine of hot air and gases that rise from a fire and carry smoke, debris and flames into the air," explains the US Forest Service.

Fire vortices can therefore reach a height of almost 46 meters.

Large vortices of fire can even develop the force of a tornado.

According to the authorities, more than 10,000 hectares of land have already been burned in the so-called Tennant Fire.

The cause of the fire, which was reported on June 28, is initially unclear.

The video of the fire tornado spreads on social networks.

In the Canadian community of Lytton, around 260 kilometers northeast of Vancouver, 49.6 degrees had been measured - previously the record in Canada was 45 degrees.

A few days later, the village was almost completely destroyed in an inferno.
