Dubai, which already boasts the world's tallest skyscraper and the world's largest shopping mall, just opened another record-breaking attraction: the world's deepest diving pool.
At a staggering 60 meters deep, the pool, which is part of the new Deep Dive Dubai attraction, has stolen the record from Poland's Deepspot, which is more than 45 meters deep.
The Deep Dive Dubai pool contains 14 million liters of fresh water, the volume of six Olympic-size pools, and is at least four times the size of any other dive pool in the world.
On June 27, Guinness awarded it the title of "Deepest Dive Pool".
Deep Dive Dubai broke the record for the deepest dive pool in the world.
For now, the facilities are by invitation only, but will open to the public later this year.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a diver, was one of the first visitors and shared his experience on social media.

The water temperature is kept at 30 ° C, a comfortable temperature for wearing a thin wetsuit or a bathing suit.

A sunken city and an underwater film studio
The pool is housed within a 1,500-square-meter oyster-shaped structure, a nod to the UAE's history as a pearl-diving country.
But the biggest star of Deep Dive Dubai is undoubtedly the underwater city.
Divers can explore the "abandoned" apartments of the sunken city and play underwater billiards in the game room.
State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems were installed inside the pool to create different atmospheres.
The pool also doubles as an underwater film studio, the largest of its kind in the region.
In the immediate vicinity of the facility there is a media editing room.
Deep Dive Dubai offers courses for both beginners and certified divers.
Divers can also explore the pool and underwater city on their own after a visit with one of the on-site dive guides.
Some 56 cameras have been installed around the pool to ensure the safety of divers in every corner.
It also has the most advanced hyperbaric chamber in the region, with capacity for 12 people, in case of emergency.
"There are quite a few dive pools in the world that are deep, but this one is much more interesting," Deep Dive Dubai director Jarrod Jablonski told CNN.
"Not only is it the deepest and the largest, but the sunken city effect makes it the next level."
"There are so many things that it really isn't fair to call it a pool."

The dive complex also has a restaurant equipped with large windows and television screens, allowing non-diving families and friends to watch from the mainland.
And in case you forget how deep the pool is, Deep Dive Dubai has posted a notice on their website for those planning to visit the city's famous Burj Khalifa afterward.

"Don't visit the top of the skyscraper after diving," he says.
"After any dive, it is recommended to wait 18 to 24 hours before ascending more than 300 meters (1,000 feet). However, there is no risk in diving after visiting the tallest building in the world."
