There is a lack of childcare facilities for the little ones in the Tegernsee Valley everywhere.
In order to remedy this, the Bad Wiessee community is pushing ahead with its “new daycare center” project.

- It has long been clear that Bad Wiessee has to reposition itself in terms of childcare.
According to the TÜV report, the Catholic Kindergarten Maria Himmelfahrt can no longer be renovated and the crèche has become much too small.
The greatest need is currently being alleviated with a container dwelling in which twelve additional crèche places are available.
"The situation is tense across the valley," admits Mayor Robert Kühn (SPD) with a view to the childcare places.
Pastor Martin Weber recently reported that around 80 children were on the waiting list in the seven crèche facilities of the Protestant parish.

Bad Wiessee wants to finally remedy the situation with the construction of a new daycare center on the school premises.
The parents are urgently waiting for it.
In a new building complex, which is largely being built on the site of the current sports field, 100 kindergarten and 90 crèche places are to be created.
There are also around ten staff apartments on the top floor.
“That was very important to us,” says Kühn about the apartments.
That makes the project much more expensive, but the municipality is fulfilling its responsibility to create living space for employees.
Architectural office goes into detailed planning for the new Bad Wiessee daycare center
As for the progress of the project, the mayor is satisfied.
“It's moving relatively quickly,” he says.
In concrete terms, this means: The Europe-wide invitation to tender has now been completed, and appropriate specialist offices have been found and committed for all trades.
An architectural office from Traunstein is currently busy with the detailed planning and has already submitted the first drafts, according to the building authority manager Anton Bammer.
According to this, an approximately 48-meter-long complex, consisting of laterally offset structures, would be created.
Bammer is convinced: “On this basis we can continue to work very well.” The plans will probably be presented to the local councils at the September meeting.
Container crib can remain in place during the construction period
The sports field will be relocated in the course of construction, and the ailing day nursery next to the school will be demolished.
If everything goes according to plan, construction of the new daycare center could begin in spring 2022.
The makeshift crib in the container can remain in place during the construction period, so that at least these places are available during the construction phase.
Otherwise, Kühn hopes that the little ones will also find shelter in the crèches in the neighboring communities.
In return, Bad Wiessee can help out with crèche places as soon as the new building is up and running.
“On this subject, we can only think far down the valley”, demands the city hall boss.
Churches will continue to take responsibility for institutions in the future
What will happen to the old kindergarten building after the completion of the new daycare center is still unclear.
The building and land belong to the Catholic Church, which is also to be responsible for the new kindergarten.
As before, the crib remains in the care of the Protestant parish.

Bammer reports that they are in close contact with the sponsors regarding the new building.
