Miesbach - Bureaucratic hurdles can sometimes even have advantages.

In Miesbach they were therefore forced to develop a new concept for childcare.

And that goes down well.

Because the church properties on Kolpingstrasse in Miesbach are in different hands - on the one hand the church foundation Maria Himmelfahrt, on the other hand the beneficiary foundation of the diocese - a great trick was necessary to pave the way for the parish and city's ideas of demand-oriented childcare .

The result is now a model that has garnered great praise from the city council: crèche, toddler group, kindergarten and after-school care center - flexible in two buildings next to each other, operated by a joint provider.

In other words, a central point of contact for the first ten years of a child's life.

Together with the new parsonage next door, such a center is to be created for all families in the district town - regardless of denomination.

What is special about the house for children is the flexible, integrative and non-denominational system that Johann Grasser, head of the Catholic daycare network Schlierach-Leitzachtal, recently presented to the city council: the groups should be able to vary as required.

The bottom line is that the previous 150 control places remain, only the design can change.

A point of contact for the first ten years of life

In view of the special care provided, an integrative place requires three regular places, a day nursery place takes up two regular places.

In general, there should also be six groups in the future: one for the crèche, three for the kindergarten and two for the after-school care center.

For Grasser, the “St. Mary's House for Children” - as the house will be called in future - is a very good solution.

"It offers a point of contact for the first ten years of the child's life."

An idea that was very well received by the city council.

Above all, the prospect of being able to offer targeted integrative places for disabled people was welcomed.

Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU) praised the "successful planning" and the integrative concept: "We should go this way." Family officer Malin Friese (Greens) called it "very valuable that these offers should all be offered in this one center" - Being able to react flexibly with staff and rooms is a nice approach.

Youth officer Christian Mittermayer (CSU) stated that this “insanely good idea” would fit perfectly there.

For Grasser, the integrative approach is a logical step: “More such spaces are needed.

Flexible use is the key to being able to react to the respective needs in the long term. ”The staff is prepared for this with further training.

With a view to the family center, educational offers for adults are also to be developed.

SPD city councilor Fertl has an eye on more properties

The aim is to open the Benefiziatenhaus this year, but experience has shown that the old building will be more realistic in the middle of 2023.

Once the move has taken place - two groups are planned for number 24 and four for 22b - the beneficiary foundation intends to sell the vacated number 13 in the bidding process.

For Paul Fertl (SPD) this would also be an option for the city.

He tried to sound out from Grasser whether a right of first refusal for the dilapidated building would be conceivable, "because our containers on the Waitzinger Wiese are only approved for eight years".

Number 13 would be an interesting alternative, but not to the usual market rate.

According to Grasser, the contact person is not the local church foundation, but the beneficiary foundation.
