The European Medicines Agency reviewed more than 300 cases of myocarditis and pericarditis in the European Union, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein. Most of the patients were vaccinated against Pfizer.
According to the Safety Committee of the Drug Administration, the relevant cases mainly occurred within 14 days after vaccination, usually after the second dose of vaccination, and in younger adult men.
The safety committee emphasized that the benefits of "all approved vaccines" still outweigh the risks.
