Sinnflut in Erding is different this year

2021-07-10T18:09:52.224Z

Erding - "The Sinnflut this year will not be what people know it to be," said Börnie Sparakowski, who runs Sinnflut GmbH together with Peter Feller. At the press conference on Friday at the Erdinger Volksfestplatz, Feller said: “For us as organizers, too, this is a completely new situation, a great risk. I feel like I'm in the very first year. ”On Friday, July 16, the starting shot for the Sinnflut 2021, which will be more of a beer garden than a festival, will be given. But there is at least one music stage and there is also a market area. The event lasts 17 days this year - until August 1st.

The first Sinnflut festival took place 27 years ago. Mayor Max Gotz, who had advocated running the Sinnflut beer garden and market this year 17 instead of the usual ten days, writes in his welcoming address in the program that this year's Sinnflut cannot be compared with any other. But he is optimistic: “It may even feel better than the very first one. Because while nobody knew what to expect during the first sensory flood, this year, after the forced Corona break, it satisfies deep longings. "

From Friday, July 16 to Sunday, August 1, the time has come: The gates to the beer garden and market will be opened - albeit with a number of rules and restrictions. 1800 visitors can be seated in the beer garden, eight people at one table. People are counted using a traffic light system at the entrance and exit, which is located in front of the stadium on the left. If the traffic light is red, the visitors have to wait. "We want to integrate the traffic light system into our homepage so that you can see beforehand whether it is worth coming."

The visitors have to register via the Luca app or by means of written evidence, a corona test is not required below an incidence of 50. The tables are placed two meters apart, and some of the seats are covered. Around 15 restaurateurs are grouped around the beer garden with their various culinary offerings. Here, too, a mask requirement, distance and a regulated direction of travel apply.

Instead of the usual three stages, there will only be one. “We're not a festival this year,” emphasizes Sparakowski, who put together the music program. "If someone believes that they can easily make one out of three stages, which were already occupied for 2020, then they are mistaken in times of the Corona," said the Sinnflut boss. The pandemic would have affected the musicians. So it was not possible to rehearse, there were no longer a number of bands, and some would not dare to perform either. Nevertheless, Sparakowski has put together a varied program of pop, rock, reggae, blues, jazz and even classical music. Well-known people such as Pinklers, Gsindl and Michael Benker are there too. For the first time on Sinnflut the Erdinger youth chamber orchestra plays violinissimo. "We're a beer garden this year, so the music mustn't be in the foreground",Feller explains why there is only one stage. But a little music is needed, "that's also good for the soul". But not everything is different: This year, too, the performing artists can win the Sinnflut sponsorship award, which is donated by Erdinger Weißbräu.

Sparakowski and Feller had already presented the city's beer garden concept for 2019, but it was not approved at the time. “This year the mayor was very kind to us, he also gathered all those involved such as the district administrator, public order office, health department and test center at a large table. We are very grateful for that, ”said Feller.

The situation for the market area is similar to that in the beer garden. The entrance is separate here, also via a traffic light system on Schützenstraße, 500 people have access at the same time according to the current status, there is a mask requirement at the around 25 stands and a one-way street tour. “The hygiene regulations for market stall operators are very strict, so I still don't know for sure who is there. The editions are too high for many, ”says Feller. He also hopes that the measures will be relaxed a little before the event begins. "If there is no space in the beer garden, the visitors could at least stroll through the market and have a bite to eat."

Feller explained: “We have to think about so many things this year, for example we have to keep an eye on the parking lot, it mustn't get too full either.

We have to close beforehand. ”Therefore, the police will be on site for the first time when the flood occurs.

Sparakowsi informed them that people would call them now to reserve a place in the beer garden.

“We can't do that,” he asked for understanding, besides that it was unfair to other visitors and spontaneity would be lost.

In general, Sparakowski is already appealing: "Tolerance and composure are required".

The visitors would also have to expect changes at short notice.

On normal flood days, the organizers count 10,000 visitors.

Feller and Sparakowski are surprised how the offer is being accepted this year.

“Although we only offer a third of the places, we have the same costs as usual.” Both are happy that there is a flood this year, but they are also in conflict: “We don't know what's coming.

Both can break our necks, a fancy sensory flood or the stripped down.

We'll see. "(And)
