Many teenagers arrived today (Saturday) at the corona virus vaccine centers scattered across the country.

This is the last day when the boys and girls will be able to receive the first dose of the vaccine, until September - since the current stock of vaccines in Israel will expire at the end of the month, so it will not be possible to get enough and get vaccinated with the second dose of the vaccine.

To this end, in parallel with the clinics' activities, dedicated immunization vehicles were scattered on the various beaches and recreation centers, where HMO staffs worked to encourage as many people as possible to be vaccinated, against the background of the re-spread of the virus.

Bat El Tabak, a 13-year-old resident of Kiryat Yam, hid in a Maccabi HMO mobile parked at Dado Beach in Haifa.

"I did not get vaccinated until today because I did not think I should, but today I realized that if the disease breaks out now then it will be easier for me if I have to fly. I realized that if not today then there will be no when - because tomorrow the vaccines will expire," she tells Walla !.

"I didn't wait long and the vaccine was a bit painful, but I thought it would be a little longer because I really don't like needles."

"It's a turn that they made it close to us and accessible," said Linor Dibby, a 14-year-old student at the Haifa School of Nursing and living in the Stella Maris neighborhood.

She noted that she came to the beach specifically for the vaccine: "As soon as I heard it was there I asked mom and dad to go get vaccinated. Four more children from my class came. I was not afraid. I wanted to get vaccinated for a long time.

"Now me and my friends can enjoy the great freedom with less worries, not putting on a mask and doing free sports," Debbie said.

Hilik Amsalem, director of the municipality's beaches department, said: "Placing the mobile at the beach, where thousands of teenagers go," joins the Haifa municipality's efforts to help prevent the spread of the epidemic, including an effort to make vaccines accessible anytime, anywhere. "

From now on, those who want to get vaccinated will receive the similar vaccine from a modern company. However, the vaccine for ages 15-12 is only approved for the Pfizer company, so teens who want to get vaccinated will not be able to do so until they receive the shipment of 700,000 packs of Pfizer vaccines, which is expected to arrive during September and October. The stock will arrive in Israel as part of the exchange deal with South Korea, which will receive a similar amount of vaccine doses from Israel by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, a 9-year-old girl attending a summer camp at a school in Hadera was diagnosed today with corona. The Ministry of Health ordered its 30 camp members to go into isolation and undergo a corona test.

According to data updated by the Ministry of Health yesterday, between the ages of 15 and 12, 11% recovered and another 29% were vaccinated - leaving 352,000 teens unvaccinated or recovering.

This is a larger figure than the Ministry of Health had hoped, aiming for at least 50% vaccinated at these ages to eradicate the current outbreak.

By segmenting the HMOs, Maccabi is a leader in the rate of vaccinating among the youth, when as of today, more than 51% of the youth who are members of the HMO have already been vaccinated or scheduled.

This is about 75,000 teenagers, with another 9% recovering in this group.

The National Health Fund has the largest percentage of recoverers, 20%, along with 30% vaccinated and another 3% who are expected to be vaccinated during the next day.

The incoming CEO of Maccabi, Sigal Dadon-Levy, said: "In recent days, we have witnessed an increase in morbidity, and in order to protect the children and prevent a further outbreak, we call on the youth to come and get vaccinated."
