A fire broke out in a sub-district house in Tai Po.
In the early hours of today (12th), a subdivision of "Mei Wan Building" in the tenement building of Rural Committee Square caught fire. Firefighters rescued two adult men and women and two girls. Except for the rescued man who inhaled heavy smoke and fell into a semi-coma , The other three had burn marks and were comatose and sent to hospital for emergency treatment. Among them, the adult woman was certified dead after sent to hospital for emergency treatment.
According to the neighbourhood’s recollection, there was a quarrel in the sub-house involved before the incident, and a fire broke out soon after.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

The scene was the "Meiyun Building", No. 4-6, Rural Committee Square.
The incident occurred at about 1:59 in the morning when a unit on the 5th floor of the site suddenly caught fire, alarming many residents to report the incident.
The firemen arrived at the report and used a breathing apparatus team and a throat to fight the blaze. About 40 minutes later, the fire was put out.
During the fire alarm, more than a dozen residents were evacuated to the ground for temporary shelter.
It is reported that firefighters first rescued a 60-year-old man who was suspected of inhaling excessive smoke and fell into a semi-coma. He was rushed to Nethersole Hospital for emergency treatment. Afterwards, firefighters rescued two more 10-year-old girls and one. A 30-year-old woman, all three of whom had burn marks, fell into a coma. The two girls were sent to Nethersole Hospital for emergency treatment; the woman was sent to North District Hospital for emergency treatment and was certified dead.
According to sources, the unit involved had "one unit and four". The four injured people lived in the fired sub-house. It is reported that they are a family and have lived at the site for more than ten years.
According to the neighbourhood, there had been quarrels in the sub-district before the fire, and the fire broke out soon after. When reporting the incident, he hurriedly stated that there were children trapped, but the injured were rescued some time after the fire broke out, questioning the delay in the rescue process.
