There were three dead and one injured in a fire in Tai Po.
In the early hours of today (12th), a fire broke out in the sub-district "Meiyun Building" in the tenement building of Rural Association Square. Firefighters rescued two adult men and women and two girls. Except for the rescued man who inhaled heavy smoke and fell into a semi-coma All three had burn marks and died after being sent to hospital for emergency treatment.
According to the neighbourhood, there were quarrels and fights in the sub-house involved before the incident, and a fire broke out soon after.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the tragedy.

The scene was the "Meiyun Building", No. 4-6, Rural Committee Square.
The incident occurred at about 1:59 in the morning when a unit on the 5th floor of the site suddenly caught fire, alarming many residents to report the incident.
The firemen arrived at the report and used a breathing apparatus team and a throat to fight the blaze. About 40 minutes later, the fire was put out.
During the fire alarm, more than a dozen residents were evacuated to the ground for temporary shelter.
It is understood that the firefighters first rescued a 60-year-old man who was suspected of inhaling excessive smoke and fell into a semi-coma. He was rushed to the Nethersole Hospital for rescue. Afterwards, the firefighters rescued two girls and a 10-year-old girl. A 30-year-old woman, all three of whom had burn marks, fell into a coma.
The two girls were rushed to Nethersole Hospital and the woman was rushed to North District Hospital. The three of them were rescued and eventually returned to be exhausted.
Sources at the scene stated that the unit involved had "one unit and four". The fired sub-house was equipped with bunk beds, housing the four dead and injured. It is reported that they are a family and have lived at the site for more than ten years.
According to the neighbourhood’s recollection, there were quarrels and fights in the sub-district before the fire, and the fire broke out shortly thereafter. When they reported the incident, they hurriedly stated that there were children trapped, but the dead were rescued some time after the fire broke out. The neighbourhood questioned the rescue. There are delays in the process.
