The case of the VIP Vaccination that Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti has just filed still maintains an open branch.
It is the one that investigates the role of the parents of the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, to determine how it was that they were vaccinated just the first day that the inoculation began for their age group.
Although for now they are not accused, the Justice required information about the inoculation received to determine if there were irregularities or luck helped them to be the first to be vaccinated.
The chronology that the Justice put together determined that the parents of the official were vaccinated against the coronavirus one day before the scandal broke out over the VIP vaccination that led to the resignation of Ginés González García, Vizzoti's predecessor and until then boss direct.
They are Carlos Alberto Vizzotti, a 77-year-old retired doctor, and his wife, Silvia Manteca Acosta, a 74-year-old housewife. The minister's parents agreed to the vaccination on Thursday, February 18, at a school in Ingeniero Maschwitz, part of Escobar.
The event occurred on
the first day authorized for the vaccination of older adults in the Province of Buenos Aires
and hours before the journalist Horacio Verbitsky confessed that he had agreed to the immunization in an office of the Ministry of Health.
The prosecutor Eduardo Taiano has to decide if he imputes to the parents of the holder of the Health portfolio.
Prior to that decision, the prosecutor ordered a series of measures.
He required the national government to send all the information related to the application of the vaccine to Vizzoti's parents.
Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti who filed the case of the VIP vaccination but is still investigating Vizzotti's parents.
The justice asked when they were vaccinated, in what place, and under what circumstances.
The competent national bodies have already sent Judge Capuchetti all the requested information.
It remains for the Government of the Province governed by Axel Kicillof to do the same.
The Vizzotti vaccination was registered in the Argentine Integrated Health Information System (known by its acronym, SISA).
The Government, on that occasion, indicated that the Minister's parents
requested their turn "like any other citizen and were summoned to be vaccinated
like other older adults in the same circumstances."
According to the SISA registry, Vizzotti's father is listed as
"health personnel".
Although he is a doctor, he is retired.
Carlos Vizzotti was part of the board of the Fundación Isalud, the sanitary think tank created by González García.
Until 2019 he was listed as assistant treasurer.
His wife was recorded in the registry as "over 60 years old" although the information took time to be uploaded.
For the VIP Vaccination, Ginés González García continues to be charged and under investigation as his nephew Lisandro Bonelli, former head of the advisory cabinet of the Ministry of Health.
Also added to the indictment were Marcelo Guille, an off-road public advisor and private business partner of the former minister and the Undersecretary of Service and Institute Management, Alejandro Collia.
The vaccine route to El Calafate
The file has another edge open that has not yet been classified: the origin of the 60 vaccines that ended up in the El Calafate Hospital, and the reasons why they were sent there.
To determine if it was an irregular grant, Judge Capuchetti asked for a list of the people who were inoculated with that batch of Sputnik V. The Ministry of Health must also provide information on the distribution and shipment.
In addition, as Clarín revealed, Justice is investigating whether Cristina Kirchner's gardener was vaccinated in a VIP vaccination center in El Calafate.
In a more forceful way, the PIA had indicated that "-until now- it cannot be established what was the amount of actual doses distributed to certain provinces."
At this point, they focused on the case of the province governed by Alicia Kirchner.
“It was reported that the doses distributed to Santa Cruz amounted to 13,000;
in the province of Santa Cruz there is the SAMIC Hospital "El Calafate" (national institution);
in the distribution table by province, it is not observed individually how many of those 13,000 doses were distributed to the SAMIC Hospital "El Calafate" and how many to the province itself. "
It was by order of the Attorney General's Office that the Ministry headed by Carla Vizzotti had to expand the administrative summary already initiated and include the alleged diversion of vaccines to the town of El Calafate.
