Due to a sabotage to the power line, the Chubut town of
Lago Puelo
was without service for 15 hours and
affected some 17 thousand inhabitants
, as confirmed by the head of the Northwest Delegation of Public Services,
Mauro Palma.
The official said that from the interruption of the service they toured the area and carried out the protocols, and that they noticed that
"they had thrown something on the line"
which "caused a short circuit in the phases," according to local media such as
Jornada newspaper
and
El Patagónico
.
Palma said that the power supply was suspended on Friday night and that the attack on the wiring was detected "at the height of Parcel 26, on national route 40" and affected the places Entre Ríos, Cerro Radal and Las Golondrinas .
The service
was only restored on Saturday at noon
, since it was not possible to work before because it was night and it was not "a simple repair".
From his perspective, it is clear that the failure was caused because "it was in an area where there are no trees" and that they found "the material thrown, which will be provided as evidence," he said.
"Justice will see if it can look for more evidence or witnesses," said Palma, who said that the material that was thrown into the line was "cables."

A hot zone
The area where the sabotage took place was affected by the forest fires of last March, where more than 300 houses were burned.
The victims continue to demand the replacement of drinking water and electricity in some parts of that territory.
Palma denounced that with the attack "it seems that the criterion of thinking that if we do not have electricity in our neighborhood, that there is no one," prevails.
"For years, we have been setting up clandestine services that harm users who pay their energy bill and have their property documentation in order," he said.
"We are used to this type of attack, especially in that sector where they have always tried to intimidate to obtain the connections," he continued.
Finally, he said that to have the electricity service "it is essential to have a certificate of ownership of the lot, a right of occupation or a rental contract, something that proves that the land has an owner."
