The brother of a Colombian nun kidnapped more than four years ago in Mali told AFP on Sunday that he had received a letter "
handwritten
" proving that she was alive.

Edgar Narvaez, brother of Gloria Cecilia Narvaez, explained that the 11-line letter was written in capitals "
because it always used capitals
" but also that the letter ended with her signature and contained the names of their parents.
"
It has now been four years that I have been in captivity and I am now in a new group of GSIM,
" the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, linked to Al-Qaeda, she wrote, according to her. brother.

Narvaez says he received the letter in March via the Red Cross.

Her sister was kidnapped on February 7, 2017 in Koutiala, some 400 km east of Bamako, where she was working as a missionary.
Fernando Murillo, the director of the Colombian police's anti-kidnapping unit, said the previous proof of life for the nun dates back to the beginning of the year, when two Europeans who managed to escape their captors reported that she was fine.
