South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced today the extension of the strict restrictions imposed in the country due to the outbreak of the Corona virus for an additional 14 days.
The imposed restrictions include banning all gatherings and roaming from nine in the evening until four in the morning of the next day.
Reuters quoted Ramaphosa as saying that the Cabinet decided to maintain the "fourth alert level" in a system of five levels of restrictions.
South Africa, the most affected country on the African continent in terms of the number of infections and deaths, is facing a third wave of the pandemic.
And the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced earlier today that the number of new infections with the Corona virus emerging in Africa reached 5 million, 919 thousand and 408.
