Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strongly condemned the participation of the Prime Minister of Slovenia in a meeting of the terrorist Khalq Clique.
Zarif said, during a telephone conversation with European Union Foreign Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell today, that the participation of the Slovenian Prime Minister, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, in a virtual forum of the terrorist Khalq group yesterday, is a rejected step, calling at the same time, calling on the European Union to clarify its position on this issue.
In turn, Borrell expressed his regret for the participation of the Slovenian Prime Minister in the forum and said that the statements of the Slovenian Prime Minister in the forum do not in any way represent the position of the European Union on relations with Iran, stressing that the positions of the European Union at the level of presidents are expressed only by the President of the Council and at the level of Ministers only by the High Representative.
Borrell added that the statements of the Slovenian prime minister were not mentioned in any way within the framework of the European Union.
Earlier today, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Slovenian ambassador to Tehran, Kristia Rade, to inform her of Iran's strong protest against the participation of the Prime Minister of her country in a meeting of the terrorist Khalq group.
