The CSU district association Erding set a strong sign of solidarity in the new elections for the board.

Erding - Great vote of confidence in Martin Bayerstorfer.

The 55-year-old district administrator was confirmed in his office as CSU district chairman at the district representative assembly in Erding with almost 98 percent of the votes.

"That's a huge vote of confidence, I'm really pleased," he said, smiling all over his face.

174 delegates from the CSU local associations had come to the gym in the girls' secondary school Heilig-Blut. During the welcome, district chairman Bayerstorfer called for solidarity and recalled the 2019 European elections and the 2020 local elections. "We fought hard and ultimately won because we showed unity," he said. In both elections the district of Erding was above the Bavarian average, "and in the district council we are by far the strongest parliamentary group with 24 seats". But he admitted that it was not easy to find majorities here and that many discussions would have to be held.

In the local election campaign, he completed a total of 110 appointments. He stated that the general mood at the time was not so good, which was also confirmed in the elections. “There has to be a good atmosphere, and the atmosphere has to become voices,” demanded Bayerstorfer. With the sheer number of candidates and topics, it is generally becoming more and more difficult and complicated, "but we accept the challenge". The way to sacrifice everything for the economic is wrong, he emphasized and cited the remunicipalisation of the Erdinger clinic as a positive example. “In 2022 the child care school is supposed to be up and running, and I'm proud of that,” he added. People need an orientation, and the CSU district association Erding can give it. "There will always be new challenges that we will tackle",concluded the district chairman.

"Erding is a strong district thanks to a strong district administrator," said Andreas Lenz, member of the Bundestag, who headed the new elections. Addressing Bayerstorfer, he added: "You are the face of the district, the face of the CSU."

Treasurer Franz Hörmann presented the financial report for the years 2019 and 2020. The account balance on January 1, 2019 was around 174,000 euros. The largest items in terms of income were, on the one hand, the membership fees at 226,500 euros, of which only around 50,000 euros remained for the district association, as well as donations of around 203,000 euros . In total, the district association raised almost 500,000 euros in the two years. As far as the expenditure is concerned, 175,000 euros in contributions have been passed on to the national association. A little more than 255,000 euros were spent on the local elections. In total, the expenses amounted to around 565,000 euros, which means a loss of around 66,000 euros in the final accounts. As of December 31, 2020, the account balance was 108,000 euros, Hörmann noted and said:"The district association is still liquid." Cash auditor Hans Fertl had no complaints and so the board of directors was unanimously discharged.

After that, Andreas Lenz took over again. First Mayor Max Gotz proposed Bayerstorfer again as district chairman and asked for a "strong, strong, unified vote, also with regard to the district day". And Bayerstorfer got that too, because 169 of 173 valid votes went to the previous incumbent. With the deputies, almost everything stayed the same. The previous deputies Max Gotz (93.71 percent), Ulrike Scharf (93.86), Hans Wiesmaier (95.32) and Franz Hofstetter (91.30) were re-elected. However, Tanja Rieß is new in the deputy team. “The CSU statutes were changed accordingly so that the JU has a place on the district executive,” explained Bayerstorfer. The 30-year-old woman from Oberdinger received a good 92 percent of the votes. Franz Hörmann (98.25) also received a clear vote, while there was the only fight vote in the election for the newly created post of digital officer. Here Alex Wegmaier from Steinkirchen prevailed against Nina Hieronymus from Wartenberg with 112: 58 votes. Burkhard Köppen was confirmed as secretary (95.80).

Finally, Andreas Lenz went into the subject of Corona. Germany has now surpassed the US vaccine model, he said, and demanded: "From my point of view there can be no further lockdown and the schools must remain open." He thanked all the helpers and said that they had learned how important the area is of care is ". As for the general election, “the polls look better again, but we can do better”. It is important to prevent a “left majority, ie green-red-red”. The member of the Bundestag concluded with the words: "I'm looking forward to the election."

There was great applause not only for Bayerstorfer and Lenz, but also for Caroline Brielmair.

The 36-year-old from Grucking is number 30 on the CSU state list and, after her first public appearance at the CSU in Eitting (we reported), now introduced herself to the delegates who were visibly impressed by the agricultural master.

She wants to make agriculture more heard.

With the announcement of the results of the assessor elections - the 14 candidates with the most votes move into the district board - Lenz ended the event after just under three hours.
