The number of passengers at BER has increased significantly again in the past few months.
1.56 million passengers were registered in the first half of the year.
Only a fraction compared to pre-Corona times.
Schönefeld - In the first half of this year, around 1.56 million passengers traveled via the new BER airport.
That was more than 90 percent fewer passengers than in the first six months of 2019, i.e. before the outbreak of the Corona crisis, according to reports and statistics from the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Company.
At that time, almost 17.5 million passengers flew over Berlin airports in the first half of the year.
The number of passengers at BER has increased significantly again in the past few months.
But it remains questionable whether the airport will reach its destination this year.
The head of the airport company, Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, last announced around 10 million passengers for the current year at the beginning of June, should traffic continue to increase.
The current figures are still a long way from this level.
