The exhibition of the food and packaging industries, Food Expo 2021, which is organized by the Delta Group for international exhibitions and conferences, kicked off this evening in the exhibition city, with the participation of about 80 companies from the largest Syrian food industrial companies and will continue until the 16th of this month.

The exhibition includes a large series of high-quality Syrian food products as well as raw materials, machinery, equipment and production lines related to food processing and packaging.

In a statement to the media, Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh considered that the return of the Food Expo is evidence of a new start for the Syrian industry, especially food, which is based on agriculture to provide healthy food products to the Syrian citizen and export the surplus to foreign markets, stressing the importance of this exhibition, which has a good reputation over several years and has become a milestone for food industries in Syria.

Engineer Hassan Qatna, Minister of Agriculture, stressed the importance of the exhibition, its continuity, and its success, which embodies an integration between the agricultural and industrial sectors, and knowledge of the industry’s needs of crops, with the aim of providing them to supply the factories with them, in order to achieve an added value that benefits the farmer, the industrialist and the consumer.

For his part, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Abu Al-Huda Al-Lahham, stressed the importance of the exhibition, which promotes food industries in Syria with the aim of exporting them to all parts of the world, especially with its quality and good specifications, expressing hope to strengthen the national economy by increasing agricultural and industrial production, especially that There are new factories and facilities in the food sector with an increasing demand for their products.

In turn, Samer Al-Debs, head of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry, confirmed that the exhibition is important for marketing food products that are characterized by high quality, starting from manufactured materials to packaging, and this constitutes an attractive factor for export and there is a surplus of food products, which this exhibition provides them with an opportunity to export.

Amer Hamwi, head of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce, pointed out the role of the exhibition in marketing food products to foreign markets, especially Arab markets, which are led by the Syrian product because the Arab consumer trusts this product, its quality and prices.

For his part, the head of the food sector in the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry and a member of its board of directors, Talal Qala Ji, said that the Food Expo is ancient, and we hope for it to progress and compete with foreign exhibitions and achieve a great renaissance for expansion in foreign markets.

For his part, CEO of the Delta Group for International Exhibitions and Conferences, Ghiath Shammaa, considered that the timing of the Food Expo coincides with the return of the start of economic life in the country and its agricultural and food resources, and the launch of the production wheel to its previous era of work and excellence, noting that the elite Syrian agricultural and food companies participate in the exhibition along with Startup food companies that are looking for a foothold and we must support and encourage them.
