Questions about the covid-19 vaccine

Dr. Good evening, a consultation on the 15th they gave us the first dose of sinopharm to the health personnel that was missing in Peru and on the 6th was the second dose, I could not put it on for suspected covid, still under monitoring, until when could I apply it?

Thanks

According to the United States CDC, you could do so at any time after you overcome the disease.

However, please find out the regulations in your country, which may ask you to wait 90 days, which is the time that the natural antibodies produced by the disease protect you.

@drhuerta Good afternoon, I have a concern.

Have information on the Australian Clover vaccine?

Tests are being carried out in Colombia and they are already in the 3rd phase, I would like to be a volunteer, but I can't find enough information about it.

I appreciate your answer.

Thanks!

- Juan lopez (@ Juanlop48241392) July 10, 2021

Hello John.

Actually, the Clover company is China and has developed a vaccine based on the spike proteins of SARS-CoV-2, combined with aluminum salts as an immunity enhancer.

They have some scientific publications of preclinical and phase 1 studies that demonstrated immune activity and low toxicity, however, please speak with your GP for better guidance.

Please, what happens if the Spuknik 5 vaccine is given at 92 or 93 days?

Does it have the same effect?

In Bolivia they are going to put

- virginia andrade (@vmandradeg) July 10, 2021

Hi Virginia.

Although there is no scientific publication to support it, the director of the Gamaleya Institute in Russia assured the Russian news agency TASS in April that the second dose could be given three to four months after the first.

Recently, however, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which financed the development of this vaccine, said that that interval could be extended to 180 days.

@drhuerta I have the two doses of Pfizer and it still infects me;

I think it will be difficult to know which variant caused it, but should I trust that the vaccine protects me from severe or serious illness?

- Armando Domínguez (@ HArmando1975) July 9, 2021

Hi Armando, that's true.

Generally, people who contract COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the second dose of vaccine develop a mild illness and have a very remote chance of complications.

Doctor my name is liliana I had asymptomatic coronavirus in January in March I vaccinated with astrazeneca now I am in Miami and I have to get vaccinated with faizer here in Miami they have told me in several places that they do not have the order to vaccinate if you already have another vaccine what do i do learned

- Eva Lilianazea (@ELilianazea) July 7, 2021

Hi Liliana.

I think you should speak to a doctor to order a single dose of Pfizer, which would complete your vaccination as you only received a single dose of AstraZeneca.

@drhuerta Dr. excuse me if I contracted Covid-19, 9 days after the first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine, should I continue with the second dose on day 21?

Thanks.

- Hugo Santa Cruz (@hugo_santa_cruz) July 7, 2021

Hello Hugo.

According to the CDC in the United States, you can get vaccinated at any time after you have overcome the disease, although you can wait until day 90, because the immunity that the natural disease gives you lasts at least that long.

However, find out the regulations in the country you live in.

@drhuerta I have a question with all due respect Dr. Huerta.

How the authorities do to verify that a person is indeed vaccinated and what type of vaccine they have.

Thank you Dr. Blessings.

- SANTIAGODAZACASTILLO (@ saNNtiago16) July 8, 2021

Hello Santiago.

It's a good question, but I'm telling you that there is no sure way to know for sure if a person has been vaccinated.

It is a matter of honesty, taking the word of someone who says they have been vaccinated.

In these times, when even vaccination cards can be falsified, the European Union has implemented an electronic vaccination verification system.

Dr huerta how effective is the sinovac vaccine

- Carlos Baquezea (@CBaquezea) July 8, 2021

The CoronaVac vaccine from the Sinovac laboratory has an efficacy to prevent symptomatic disease of 50.65% in Chile and 83.5% in Turkey.

However, as we heard in the June 3 episode, this vaccine reduced deaths by 95% in the town of Serrana in Brazil, a city that vaccinated almost all of its inhabitants.

I put Astrazeneca 1st dose on April 29, can I get Pfizer 2 on August 7 and August 28?

Or do I just wear a Pfizer?

Thanks

- Jorge (@ Jorge52627930) July 8, 2021

Hello Jorge.

Since you have already received the first dose, you only need to complete it with a single dose of Pfizer.

Luis asks: What vaccine is recommended for a 62-year-old person who has overcome covid-19 and has high cholesterol and triglycerides?

Hi Luis.

Any of the approved vaccines in use in the world is capable of protecting that person.

It is also important to see your doctor for advice on how to control high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Questions about what to take or do after getting vaccinated

@drhuerta Good afternoon Dr. Huerta please a consultation, three days ago I received my first dose of Pfizer I had small symptoms such as discomfort in the back of the head, some sleepiness, pain in the puncture and the next day slight discomfort in the body and slight fever per

- Raquel (@ raquel_2767) July 10, 2021

Hello Rachel.

Don't worry, symptoms after vaccination can be controlled with any medication, without affecting the effectiveness of the vaccine.

@drhuerta, how long should the second dose of pfizer pass to drink intoxicating beverages in excess without problems?

- Ronald Eicardy (@RonaldEicardy) July 9, 2021

There is actually no problem with moderate alcohol consumption and the covid-19 vaccine.

If you are in the habit of having a glass of wine or a beer with your meal, you can continue to do so at any time.

@drhuerta, dear Doctor, a pgta, how many days before or after the COVID vaccine can I get a tattoo?

Thanks

- Renato Salas Delgado (@RenatoSalasD) July 9, 2021

Excellent question, Renato.

If you don't have side effects from the vaccine, you could do it at any time.

@drhuerta I have a question on July 01, I was vaccinated against covid with astrazeneca, can I inject a contraceptive or wait?

- Beatriz 503 (@ Beatriz01618176) July 7, 2021

Hello Beatriz.

According to the UK National Health Service, women who receive AstraZeneca vaccines can continue to use their contraceptive hormones.

Anyway, I beg you to consult with your personal physician.

@drhuerta I have a doubt that nobody can take away from me, I have been vaccinated and the same day I had to work with chlorine-bleach, when breathing those chemicals does not generate any problems with my vaccination?

- Leiva Leonel (@ lett01_) July 9, 2021

Hi, Leonel.

Don't worry, there should be no problem that these chemical fumes will affect the effectiveness of the vaccine you received.

Doubts about diseases and medications and their possible interactions with the vaccine

Can those allergic to streptomycin be vaccinated?

- warrior without limits (@ queen2609) July 10, 2021

Sure you do, Guerrera.

According to the CDC, there is no problem for a person allergic to any medication to receive a vaccine against covid-19.

@drhuerta Good afternoon Dr. I greet you from La Paz, Honduras, I ask you my 83-year-old father suffered acute pancreatitis in April, he is much better.

He can get vaccinated against vovid-19

- Lolita (@DoloresIsaca) July 9, 2021

Hi Lilita.

Of course, if your dad has already recovered from pancreatitis, he can be vaccinated without any problem.

Because of his age, he is a person at risk.

Renzo and Firefighter ask: What effects does taking methotrexate have on patients vaccinated with the two doses of Pfizer?

A recent study has shown that 25% of people who take methotrexate for various immune system disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis or multiple sclerosis, have a weaker immune response to the coronavirus disease (covid-19) vaccine.

Please speak with your doctors to determine when to get vaccinated.

Dr. Excuse me, greetings from my country Colombia, is that I have a niece who suffers from mitral valve prolapse and you have not yet vaccinated what vaccine do you recommend given that she has this problem and if before being vaccinated can she take some clinical tests, thank you?

- christian Salazar hoyos (@ christi50563394) July 9, 2021

Hi, christian.

All people with cardiovascular diseases are at risk of complications if they become infected with the new coronavirus.

Therefore, a person with a heart valve disorder must protect himself.

@drhuerta Good morning Dr. HUERTA I am writing to you from Bolivia.

Consultation is it true that people with low defenses should not get the Jhonson & jhonson vaccine ?.

Thank you

- M. Zeballos (@MirZeballos) July 9, 2021

Hi, Mir.

First, it would be necessary to define and clarify what the term "low defenses" means.

There are rare conditions in which a person does not produce antibodies or memory cells when stimulated by an antigen or a substance that stimulates the defense system.

You should consult a doctor for clarification.

@drhuerta My query is about an oncological drug called keytruda and the vaccines for covid, can they be applied without serious problems or not ???

Thank you!!!

- roberto (@ harpsur2005) July 5, 2021

Hello Roberto.

According to an Israeli study published in

The Lancet Oncology

of April 1, 2021, people who are receiving immunomodulatory drugs, such as Keytruda, do not have complications from the Pfizer vaccine, compared to people who do not receive such drugs.

Obviously, please speak to your oncologist.

Other doubts about covid-19

@drhuerta good morning doctor.

From Chile.

What are the times they usually have to sequence and detect if a Covid-19 is a Delta variant.

Here there are 2 definitions of close contact to perform traceability, depending on the variant.

Thanks in advance🙏🏾

- Carlos Durán-Calquin (@ carlosduran0316) July 10, 2021

Good question, Carlos.

Ideally, the analysis to determine the genetic sequence of the virus takes three to seven business days to complete.

@drhuerta hello dr, in a vaccinated person, the virus can make mutations?

Greetings from Panama 🇵🇦

- Ricardo Domínguez (@El_kObE) July 8, 2021

Excellent question, Ricardo.

Theoretically, every time the virus replicates it is capable of mutating, so that if a vaccinated person becomes infected and the virus replicates, that could happen.

We are not aware that this has been studied.

@drhuerta Good afternoon doctor, thank you for always sharing such valuable information about the pandemic.

My question is if I take multivitamins and supplements of vitamins D, C and Zinc, does it help me at all to fight the virus or not at all, thank you.

- Lucas Vázquez (@puntonetarroba) July 5, 2021

Hello Lucas.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for the integrity of our defense system.

However - unless there are special conditions studied by a doctor - these substances must be obtained from food, not from supplement pills.
