A recall procedure for a batch of Casino brand sandwiches was launched on Friday July 9.
In accordance with the protocol in place since April 1, 2021 for the recall of defective or dangerous products, an alert has been published on the Recall Conso website.

The products concerned are marketed under the name “Croque monsieur à poêler (2 x 100g) 200g CASINO” with a use-by date of July 10, 2021. The batch also bears the number 111680265 and was present on the shelves of Géant brands. Casino, Vival, Spar and other group distribution networks, between June 18 and July 9, 2021.
This recall was decided after the discovery of Listeria monocytogenes in food trays.
These bacteria could cause listeriosis in consumers of the product.
Symptoms to watch out for, especially for at-risk audiences
After an incubation period of up to several weeks, the disease causes symptoms such as fever or digestive upset.
As the Institut Pasteur reminds us, certain neurological complications can also be observed.
The infection is particularly dangerous for infants infected during pregnancy.
Recall Conso thus recommends vigilance for immunocompromised people, the elderly and pregnant women.
Consumers who have already ingested the product and who observe the appearance of characteristic symptoms are called upon to contact their doctor as soon as possible.
Return to store or destruction is recommended
Buyers who are still in possession of the croque-monsieur concerned must also stop their consumption immediately.
It is also recommended that they destroy the lots or return the products to the point of sale.
A refund is offered as compensation.

As the manufacturer and distributor of the product, Casino has initiated a voluntary recall procedure.
Indeed, recalls of products deemed dangerous are initiated by the person responsible for placing the product on the market.
The foods in question must be removed from the shelves and consumers informed by means of posters available in stores.
Since April 2021, it is finally mandatory to inform the affected batches on the Conso Recall site.
