KMB announced today (12th) that it will start the "new long-distance bus service" numbered P960 and P968 starting next Sunday (18th), from Tuen Mun to Yuen Long and Yuen Long to Tin Hau, respectively. KMB said The buses on these two lines are equipped with the latest safety devices, comfortable seats, and no standing positions.
As soon as the news came out, netizens drew heated discussions. Some people pointed out that the fares of the two lines are much more expensive than the original 960 and 968 lines, but the ride may not be as fast as "Mi is a fortress car again."
However, some netizens said that the buses on these two lines are more comfortable, and they may consider it.

KMB mentioned on its website that the newly opened route P960 runs from Siu Hong Station (North) to Wan Chai (North), while P968 runs from Long Ping Station or Yuen Long (West) to Tin Hau Station. The charge for P960 is $32.8 per trip. P968 charges 36.9 yuan per trip.
Line 960, which is similar to P960, costs 21.9 yuan per trip; line 968, which is similar to P968, costs 24.7 yuan per trip.
In other words, the fare of the P line is about 50% more expensive than the ordinary line with similar routing.

According to KMB, vehicles used to travel on the two bus lines are equipped with the latest safety devices, including driver assistance systems, captain fatigue reminders and seat belts.
In terms of compartment facilities, the vehicle will use seats similar to an airport bus. The windows are equipped with curtains to block the sun, USB charging devices and free wireless Internet access are provided. The vehicles do not have a standing position, so that passengers can enjoy a comfortable journey.
However, KMB also mentioned that the "$2 concession for the elderly and eligible persons with disabilities" and the "KMB monthly pass" are not applicable to the two routes.
The post attracted enthusiastic responses from netizens. Many people said that the fares are too high, and the alignment is not necessarily faster than the normal line. The biggest problem is that the monthly pass cannot be used or the discount is not provided.
However, some people think that the routes and services are "good" and that a more comfortable journey is not unattractive.
