Long Kranzberg solar debate - but no result

The current multi-generation house recently provided for discussion in the Kranzberg municipal council.

More precisely: the PV system on the roof.

Kranzberg

- Opinions on the benefits of such a solar system diverged so widely in the council that no final result was reached.

The decision had to be postponed to the next meeting.

In the meantime, the two buildings, which are intended to enrich the community with a multi-generation concept, are in place.

The Citizens Energy Cooperative Freising Land (BEG) was only involved in the construction project about a month ago: Chairman Andreas Henze would like to install photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the two buildings in order to take the district one step further towards climate neutrality.

He wants to proceed as economically as possible and install PV systems with around 154 kilowatts peak.

However, the project threatens to fail because of this: Architect Johannes Dantele announced that the snow grids that had already been ordered would lose their effectiveness with a PV system of this size.

The thing with the snow grate

If the system is implemented according to Henze's plan, the distance to the snow protection would be only 20 centimeters.

Mayor Hermann Hammerl explained to the committee why a snow grate was absolutely necessary: "The multi-generation houses border on an inner courtyard." Thus, Kranzbergers passing by could quickly become victims of roof avalanches.

Councilor Franz Braun advocated removing a row of modules from the PV system.

This would result in an output of around 110 kW.

The colleagues Georg Neumair and Monika Mühl see the responsibility of the community here elsewhere: "We decided against a solar park because we didn't want the PV systems on the field, but on the roofs," said Mühl.

Neumair agreed with his colleague: "We have to keep our word and block as much as possible."

The decision should be made in four weeks

Sonja Kieslinger eyed the topic critically.

She demanded from the committee members: “People, wake up!” She also said that the BEG had something “imposed” on the community.

She advocated postponing the decision for four weeks.

This proposal received unanimous support.
