All bad for Mexico in the 2021 Gold Cup. The draw against Trinidad and Tobago has caused several problems for the 'Tri' on and off the pitch.
The homophobic cry was present again and Concacaf analyzes that the match against Guatemala be played behind closed doors.
Yon de Luisa, President of the Mexican Soccer Federation reported on the possible sanction that the Mexican team would receive in their second group stage match of the current tournament in the area.
"We were asked yesterday if there was the possibility of playing behind closed doors next Wednesday, it
is a situation that has arisen
and surely in the next few hours we will have direct communication," said the manager at a press conference.
In addition, de Luisa reiterated that not participating in Concacaf tournaments in future years is not an alternative:
"Not participating (in the Gold Cup) is not an option for Mexico.
We will always be in the tournaments that we are invited by Concacaf or FIFA", mentioned.
It should be remembered that the commitment against Trinidad and Tobago had to be stopped twice by the whistler due to the behavior that took place in the building.
