Thousands of people in Cuba took to the streets on Sunday to complain about the lack of freedom and the worsening economic situation, according to protesters who spoke to CNN.
This unusual day of protest provoked reactions in various parts of the continent.

The secretary of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, said on Twitter that they recognize "the legitimate claim of Cuban society for medicines, food and fundamental freedoms" and condemned the Cuban government for its call to "repress."
