It is still uncertain whether a farm shop will be allowed to be built on Wurzbergstrasse in Reichling.

The ward council was concerned about the proximity to the church.

Now there are new plans.

Reichling

- The Elfinger family want to build a farm shop with a processing room and an apartment by the church in Reichling.

Lamb and other self-produced food will then be sold in the shop.

The project was initially postponed by the local council because the new building is to be built right next to the Reichlingen parish church.

Now the local council first took a site tour to get an idea of how the house with farm shop, office and apartment would change the appearance of the village around the church.

After inspecting the site, the local council rejects the project

After the site visit, the majority of the municipal council rejected the project.

Main argument: the building would come out too high next to the church.

So that everyone can imagine what the building would look like one day, the community had specially erected a wooden scaffolding that should make the change visible on the site.

The new building is to be built on the spot where the old delivery house used to be.

The dilapidated house has meanwhile been torn down.

Several councilors saw the problem in the fact that the new building with the farm shop should be a good three meters higher than the old delivery building - namely 9.96 meters high (ridge height).

"It really comes out pretty high," said Lars Scharding.

One floor less would be fine for him, but then the operators would have too few rooms.

"It looks great from the cemetery," said Ute Steininger.

"I think it's good to create living space, but this solution is not a good one."

Heinrich Quartall suggested whether moving towards Wurzberg could save one floor space by making the building wider and not so high.

Thomas Schelle said whether the carport could not be taken out to create space there.

Hans-Jürgen Korn emphasized that it was very important to him to find a compromise.

Steininger said that the applicants would also be cooperative in this regard.

New plans submitted

According to Bernd Glück, the local council only talked a few weeks ago about “no longer wanting something like that”, he said in relation to the visual impact of the planned building.

Walter Dirr noted that it would actually be a “shame about the courtyard” if it were now covered by the new building.

The Elfinger family had painstakingly restored the old farm.

Korn rejected a development plan that was brought into play: “We had great difficulty abolishing development plans in the last legislative period,” he added.

Mayor Johannes Leis pointed out that a development plan for the entire village would also be critical from a legal point of view.

Ultimately, only Korn and Leis were willing to give the building project in its current form the municipal agreement.

The rest voted against.

City councilor Stephan Leis was excluded from the vote as a planner.

After this decision, the builders have now changed the plans again.

The parish council will now discuss the changed plan at its meeting on Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the parish hall.
