Uta Schemm (36) from Glonn has been dreaming of becoming a writer since she was a little girl.

Her first youth novel has now been published.

Glonn

- Since she learned to write, Uta Schemm from Glonn has been enthusiastic about putting her own stories on paper.

The 36-year-old's eternal career dream: "To become a real writer".

She recently published her first work.

A children's and youth novel with the title “The secret of magical images”.

The mother of three, originally from Saxony-Anhalt, has been on parental leave since Corona.

She also used this time to fine-tune her first book: her novel is about a boy who has a magical drawing pad and finds himself in his own pictures night after night.

There he experiences adventures until he realizes that the magical worlds seem to be connected to him and the dangers are suddenly very real ...

Writing at the children's playground

It took her three months to write - afterwards she was busy with the "rework", as she says, for a year.

“It's amazing what it's all about.” Using parental leave to write wasn't that easy, says the 36-year-old.

Three children and two dogs demand your attention.

She didn't have a permanent desk either, so she worked at the kitchen table, packed her laptop and devoted herself to her book at the playground around the corner.

In this sense, however, writing was not an additional job besides the family.

On the contrary: "That was such a dive for me," explains the Glonnerin.

She has never forgotten her dream of becoming a writer, says Schemm.

But it wasn't until the birth of her children that she found her creative, imaginative side again.

"Since then, I've been passionate about creating magical or very unusual stories for them."

Your children are your strictest critics

Your boys are your strictest critics, she says and laughs.

But they were very enthusiastic and wanted to share the story with their friends too.

“There was so much positive feedback,” she says.

“That's why I took the next step.” Before publication, however, she also had her book professionally proofread.

In addition, she has already published her second novel in an Amazon writing competition and is among the top ranks there.

“The secret of magical images” is available from tredition Verlag as a paperback at a price of 9.99 euros.
