Lattakia, SANA- The revenues of the Transport Directorate in Lattakia during the first half of this year exceeded 5.772 billion Syrian pounds.

The revenues of the Directorate of Transport in Lattakia during the first half of this year exceeded 5.772 billion Syrian pounds, with easy measures taken to improve the quality of service provided to citizens and the speed of completion of transactions.

The Director of Transport, Eng. Muhammad Ali Deeb, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of transactions executed in the directorate during this period of the year amounted to 71,459 transactions, including 9,956 ownership transfer transactions, 6,925 license renewal transactions, 1,358 recent registration transactions, 431 transactions transferred from the directorate’s records, and 345 transactions transferred to the directorate.

Eng. Deeb pointed to the directorate's keenness to simplify the procedures by creating an office in the Justice Palace in Lattakia to grant vehicle registration data and conduct immediate matching to the agencies organized in the Judicial Palace, which contributes to the speedy completion of transactions and the necessary matching and prevention of fraud.

And he indicated that a mechanism was implemented to distribute work in the halls in the directorate building according to the transaction number, which enabled the vehicle owner to carry out any type of transaction related to his vehicle in any hall and with one employee in order to establish the principle of a single window and to complete any transaction related to the vehicle within a maximum time of 10 minutes after submitting patents. necessary and conduct a technical examination, if necessary.

The Directorate of Transport, according to Eng. Deeb, has also implemented an electronic automation project for all documents related to vehicles registered in the Directorate and archiving the transactions executed on them, which contributes to saving those documents without the need to request the file or return to it if it is damaged or lost.

He pointed out the importance of working with the program recently launched by the Ministry of Transport, which is the service of renewing the license for vehicles and paying their fees electronically from anywhere without the need to be in the transport directorates, pointing out that this project currently includes private vehicles, which will develop the work of the transport directorates, reduce congestion and burdens of transportation for citizens and contribute to the completion of transactions. Quickly and the citizen will not be subject to fines in case of delay in completing the transaction.

He indicated that the project currently targets 500,000 vehicles registered in the special category, and includes private vehicles operating on diesel and private tourist cars with an engine capacity of more than 3000 cm3.
