According to the society, studies have shown that some kidney transplant patients are being treated with immunosuppressive agents such as Abatacept and Belatacept, and the levels of neutralizing antibodies and T cells produced by the body are greatly reduced.
Another study found that only 16.6% of kidney transplant recipients and 34.8% of heart transplant recipients of kidney transplant and heart transplant patients who had received two doses of Fubital vaccine had antibodies in their serum.
