The city had already put together a budget package worth around 24 million euros in May.

Now the city councils have received the 2020 annual accounts and the good news that despite a difficult corona year, a good 2.4 million euros are left over.

Tegernsee - Treasurer Jürgen Mienert was able to draw a positive conclusion in the city council: "The corona pandemic did not have as negative an impact on the city budget as forecast." 1 million euros almost equalized. "It looks different without this money," said the treasurer and presented his figures for the 2020 annual accounts. The treasurer justified the surplus of 2.4 million euros with investments that had not been carried out or had not yet been fully settled. 5 million euros were budgeted, 4.7 million euros were actually spent - for example for the fire station, the new playground in the spa garden, the expansion of Klosterwachtstrasse and the access to the residential building at Pöttingerstrasse 20.Only 2 instead of 7 million euros had to be withdrawn from the savings.

Record results for trade tax as in 2018 or 2019 are no longer to be expected.

Chamberlain Jürgen Mienert

Mienert had planned overly cautiously with zero euros in trade tax income, in fact the city took 3.9 million euros.

This is only half as much as in 2019, but roughly corresponds to the income from 2015. Record results like those in 2018 (6.9 million euros) or 2019 are no longer to be expected in the future.

However, the current fiscal year in terms of trade tax has so far developed according to plan, said Mienert.

3.3 million euros are set here.

Tegernsee annual accounts 2020: Hardly any drops in income and sales tax

Income from income tax and sales tax totaled EUR 3.1 million and thus only slightly below the 2019 result of EUR 3.2 million. "Here, too, Corona did not have as negative an impact as feared," reported Mienert. No threatening break-ins are in sight for this year either.

With an income of 337,000 euros was calculated, in fact it was 321,000 euros (2019: 397,000 euros).

As with the business tax, a number of reduction requests from tourist facilities have led to this deterioration.

However, compensation payments from the Free State should also flow here in 2021.

This also applies to the resort fee.

334,000 euros were estimated, while it was actually 340,000 euros (2019: 417,000 euros).

"If you take into account that hotels were closed for several months because of the Corona measures, then the result achieved can be seen as positive," said Mienert.

Annual accounts 2020: Tegernsee pays 3.85 million euros to the district

Because of the good tax power in Tegernsee - it rose last to 1983.77 euros per inhabitant - the payment to the district climbed from just under 3.6 million euros in 2019 to around 3.85 million euros in 2020. And that, despite the district levy for the 2020 budget year was reduced from 53 to 52 percent. A lower district levy can only be expected in 2022, according to Mienert. Mayor Johannes Hagn (CSU) took a clear position here: If you really want to give the municipalities a hand, then you would have to lower the district levy to 51 percent, according to Hagn. “But I am a shouter in the forest and I do not believe that there will be a majority.” Regarding personnel expenses: They climbed by 140,000 euros to around 3 million euros. Proof that the financial year is better than planned,is the contribution to the asset budget: Mienert can post 4.8 million euros here.

Including their own operation TKV (Tegernsee Kur- und Versorgungsbetriebe), the debt level was 4.5 million euros, 226,000 euros less than in the previous year.

Tegernsee has 14.6 million euros available for investments

At the end of 2020, Tegernsee already had 12.2 million euros on the high edge.

Added to this is now the surplus of 2.4 million euros.

“This means that 14.6 million euros are currently available for investments,” announced the treasurer.

If the plan goes according to plan, the planned new debt of around 7.5 million euros will probably be lower.

“A really great result,” said Vice Mayor Michael Bourjau (FWG) on the annual accounts.

He found it remarkable that fortunes had even been built up in such a difficult year and complimented the chamberlain on his careful planning.

At the end of the day, the city council agreed with the figures and that the surplus should be added to the general reserve.

The audit committee must now examine the annual accounts carefully.
