Nuremberg - Women's Representative Hedwig Schouten from Nuremberg * has been re-elected as one of the spokespersons for the LAG Equal Opportunities Officer.
This year's meeting of the regional working group of Bavarian equality bodies (LAG) took place on Wednesday and Thursday (July 7th and 8th) in Ingolstadt.
Nuremberg: Topics such as Corona and gender equality work were discussed
The meeting was about mutual exchange.
Topics were discussed such as the effects of Corona * on gender equality work, the return to old role models and gender-sensitive language.
The amendment of the Bavarian Equal Opportunities Act is currently pending.
The equal opportunities officers are also planned as experts for the hearing in the Bavarian state parliament in autumn 2021.
“For the implementation of these issues, functioning equality work continues to be required in the Bavarian municipalities.
I am therefore pleased about the signals from the Ministry of Social Affairs to take this into account when amending the Bavarian Equal Opportunities Act, ”says Schouten.
Nuremberg: LAG has over 100 members
The LAG currently represents over 100 members.
The Bavaria-wide alliance consists of municipal equality and women's representatives from cities, municipalities and other municipal areas.
The LAG meeting takes place once a year.
Minister of Social Affairs Carolina Trautner emphasized in her greeting:
“We are on the right track in terms of gender equality, but we have not yet reached our goal!
There are still significant gaps in actual equality between women and men.
For example, women are mostly the educational winners and at the same time often the losers in their careers.
This must and cannot be!
We have to develop leadership part-time, overcome old role models, promote equal pay and the compatibility of family and work. ”
