Malta announced this Friday to close its borders to unvaccinated travelers, from Wednesday July 14.
An emergency measure taken by the government to curb an upsurge in new cases of Covid-19.
Contrary to the European health pass, travelers whose EU digital Covid certificate indicates that they have been positive and then had a single dose of vaccination will not be allowed to enter the country.
Only travelers presenting a European, Maltese or British vaccination certificate, attesting to the completion of the vaccination cycle for at least 14 days, will be allowed to enter the territory.
A PCR test is not enough either.
The only exception is that minors accompanying their parents must present a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours to be authorized to enter.
Unaccompanied minors will not be allowed to enter the country.
