The Hong Kong Institute of Public Opinion conducted a survey by random sample telephone interviews from June 30 to July 8. A total of 1,003 samples were obtained.

Secretary for Administration Li Jiachao and Secretary for Justice Zheng Ruohua scored 38 points and 28.1 points respectively, and their net support ratings were -5 percentage points and -37 percentage points respectively.
The net approval ratings of the 13 directors have increased in varying degrees. Among them, the approval ratings of six have changed from negative to positive. The Secretary of the Environment Huang Jinxing further increased from 2 percentage points to 7 percentage points.
The net support rate of the new Secretary for Security, Tang Ping-keung, is 2 percentage points.
According to Xu Jincheng's analysis, the two newly appointed secretary-generals, Li Jiachao and Deng Bingqiang, scored high, but their work is sensitive and the citizens may change quickly.
The government's handling of district board members may affect public opinion
Xu Jincheng also said that how the government handles the loss of a large number of district council members may affect the public's support for the government in the future. Because members have close contact and contact with the community, they can also monitor the government. Other channels of government consultation may not be able to replace the district councils. The government should not sacrifice the community and people's livelihood, and should not politicize the issue of parliament.
