The victim, owner of a bar-tabac in Compiégnois, was driving to his bank to deposit the money when he was attacked on Tuesday

A robbery as we see little in the department.

Tuesday morning, a man was the target of a theft while driving in his car on the departmental 66, between Plessis-Brion and Compiègne.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the latter was cut off by a group of three individuals who stole money from him after having stopped him.

An investigation for armed robbery was opened by the prosecution and entrusted to the research brigade of the gendarmerie of Compiègne.

"According to the victim, one of them was in possession of a handgun"

It was around 8:30 am, and this tobacconist from Compiégnois was heading towards his bank to deposit the recipe for his bar-tobacco when he was stopped by a vehicle from which three people came out, hooded and gloved.

"According to the victim's testimony, one of them was in possession of a handgun," reports the prosecutor of the Republic of Compiègne, Marie-Céline Lawrysz.

Out of his cabin, the victim was then lightly molested, then held by two of the individuals while a last searched his car.

Once the money was in their hands, the thieves fled in their vehicle.

For the time being, no arrest has taken place.

"The circumstances are still rather vague and the modus operandi quite astonishing", slips a relative of the investigation.

“The investigations are continuing,” says Marie-Céline Lawrysz.

The amount of the loot estimated at more than 10,000 euros

Did the criminals know what they were going to find in the car early in the morning? According to our information, if the exact receipt of the tobacconist has yet to be determined, it would amount to more than 10,000 euros. Contacted, Serdar Kaya, president of the union of tobacconists of the Oise, expressed his "fed up". “For 10 years we have been asking to benefit from CIT security staff to avoid this kind of thing,” he blows.

According to him, however, this type of attack is "increasingly rare". “Because we are working with less and less species,” he admits. However, tobacco bars remain a privileged target of delinquents. On July 7, a group of six individuals attacked an establishment in Beauvais with a ram car to steal cartons of cigarettes, for an estimated amount of between 10,000 and 20,000 euros. Last April, three tobacco bars were attacked in less than five days in the Creil sector.
