During the operation, the police found that drug dealers used avocado cooking oil mixed with liquid methamphetamine for the first time, and also discovered that new drug trafficking trends emerged during the epidemic. Drug dealers sought to smuggle large quantities of drugs into the country in a short time, replacing the previous "ant moving" smuggling of drugs into the country; In addition, during the epidemic, some citizens underemployed, or because young people had not yet entered the WTO, drug dealers used hundreds to thousands of yuan to lure them to "quick money" for drug trafficking.

The first drug trafficking case occurred on Sunday (11th) evening. Police officers from the Narcotics Bureau intercepted and searched two suspicious men outside a village house in Ma'angang Village. A brick of cocaine weighing about 1 kg was found on one of them.

The detectives then searched the village house where the man was renting and found 18 packs of methamphetamine, which weighed about 18 kilograms and were packed in tea foil bags, and 4 packets of methamphetamine, which were packed in transparent plastic bags and weighed about 3.5 kilograms.

The detectives also seized a batch of drug-making tools and found nearly 700 sticks of avocado cooking oil each weighing one liter, 130 sticks of which contained liquid methamphetamine. It is estimated that about 39 kilograms of methamphetamine can be extracted.

During the investigation, the police discovered that a sub-district unit on Boundary Street in Mong Kok was also related to the case. The detectives seized another 5 bricks of cocaine weighing approximately 5 kilograms in the sub-district unit.

The seized drugs involved in the case totaled approximately 66.5 kilograms, with a market value of approximately 40.2 million yuan.

The two arrested in the case were a 23-year-old South Asian man holding a Hong Kong identity card, and a 22-year-old local man who respectively reported to be truck drivers and drink shop owners.

The two are being detained for investigation. One of them was charged with one count of "drug trafficking" and one count of "drug production". The case will appear in Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.

The second case occurred on Monday (12th) evening. In Gaopu North Village, agents of the Narcotics Bureau intercepted and searched two suspicious women, and found 9 packets of Perak weighing about 205 grams in a plastic bag carried by one of them. cocaine.

Later, in the tin house rented by the two women and another man, three bags of methamphetamine weighing about 3 kilograms, 13 bricks of cocaine weighing about 13 kilograms, and one packet of ketamine weighing about 230 grams were found. It weighs 55 grams of crack cocaine and a batch of drug making tools.

The drugs seized during the operation weighed about 16.5 kilograms and had a market value of about 17.5 million yuan.

Three people were arrested for drug trafficking and drug production. Two local women were 19 and 20 years old, and the other local man was 25 years old. They all reported unemployed.

The three arrested persons are now being detained for enquiries. They will be charged with one crime of "trafficking in drugs" and one crime of "making drugs". The case will also appear in Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.

As for the third case, investigators from the Regional Crime Squad of New Territories South raided a hotel room on On Ping Street, Shek Mun, Sha Tin yesterday (12th) evening, and seized 10 packages weighing about 10.3 kilograms and worth about 5.47 million meth and packaging Tools (including electronic scales and plastic bag sealing machine), and arrested a 33-year-old local woman surnamed Chen who was reported to be unemployed.

She was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs by the police and will be brought to Sha Tin Magistracy tomorrow.
