The Figaro letter of July 13, 2021

2021-07-13T04:55:51.525Z

Emmanuel Macron is doing everything to ensure that the French get vaccinated, the automotive industry wants to meet the challenge of electricity and Joseph Kessel recounts his memories of July 14.

Dear readers,

He wanted to talk to us about his ambitions for France, to change a little this annoying habit he had of announcing bad news to us on weeknights on national television, but the virus decided otherwise. Once again, Emmanuel Macron's intervention yesterday was made of new health restrictions. With a novelty all the same: from now on they will only apply to people who do not have the health pass, thus pushing the French to be vaccinated as soon as possible. Refusing, however, to let the wicked epidemic dictate all his policy, the Head of State has set his course in terms of reforms for the short months that remain at the head of the country.

He had also met the automotive industry earlier in the day to decide on the procedure to follow so that the transition to all-electric goes as smoothly as possible.

Good reading and good day, dear subscribers, we will meet again on Thursday.
