Finally culture again: After the corona-related compulsory break, a colorful festival program awaits throughout the district this year.

Whether theater, music or cabaret: there is something for every taste.

An overview.

For a long time, artists had to do without their audience.

People long for live music and a festival atmosphere.

So many cultural highlights are planned in the district this year as rarely.

Most of it takes place in the open air - and tickets can still be bought everywhere.

Wolfratshausen River Festival

The first district festival this year started on Friday at the old raft landing in Wolfratshausen. Josef Brustmann opened the river festival with his "Brustmanns Lust" combo. The Waldramer is not the only artist of stature: Dominik Halamek (July 20th), Django Asül (July 25th), Günter Grünwald (July 24th) - at the river festival in Wolfratshausen some well-known greats appear.

A total of 18 events will offer a colorful bouquet of cultural highlights until Sunday, July 25th.

Tickets are still available for most of the events.

These are available on the Internet at www.muenchenticket.de.

The prices vary depending on the event.

At the performance of the pop bard Laith Al-Deen (Sunday, July 18), you pay 49 euros for a seat.

Admission to the morning pint with the Wolfratshausen Music School (July 25) is free.

Because of the corona pandemic, the look of the festival has changed: the striking grandstand construction, which is reminiscent of the opera house in Sydney, was exchanged for a marquee.

The artists appear on a floating stage on the Loisach.

Summer of music at the Walchensee power plant

From Tuesday, July 13th, a new series of events will attract those who are hungry for culture to Kochel am See. During the music summer at the Walchensee power plant, cultural enjoyment and landscape experience should come together. Artists like Willy Astor, who plays at the opening, the jazz band Norisha (July 25) and pop, soul and reggae singer Ami Warning (July 31) take care of the former.

Six top-class concerts until Friday, August 6th, form the series of concerts that the Lenggrieser Verein Kleinkunst & Kultur (KKK) is organizing for the first time.

Spectators sit in the open air, some places are covered.

A special feature: visitors can use the generous time before the concerts - admission: 6.30 p.m., start: 8 p.m. - for a short walk on Lake Walchensee.

The stage itself is not set up directly on the bank.

Tickets cost between 22 and 47 euros, orders can be sent by email to musiksommer@kkk-lenggries.de.

980 people can celebrate at the same time at the Oach Festival in Bad Tölz. At the open-air festival weekend in the Eichmühle natural swimming pool, the Bananafishbones are the undisputed mood-makers. They will perform on Saturday, July 24th. Visitors secure a place on one of the beer benches for 25 euros. The evening before, two local bands - AY / CY and the Guitar Gangsters - are heating up in the outdoor pool, admission: 15 euros. Tickets for the concerts are sold by the customer service of Stadtwerke Bad Tölz, on family Sunday there are day tickets in the outdoor pool. On Sunday there is a children's program that local clubs organize. Burgers, pizza or cocktails from the food trucks on the premises go well with the rich rhythms and the exuberant party atmosphere. The outdoor pool is to be designed with light effects in an atmospheric way - the area remains brightly lit until midnight. The swimming pool in the outdoor pool will be closed during the concerts. Important to know: Only fully vaccinated, negative tested or recovered from Corona are allowed on the festival site. A quick test station will be set up in front of the outdoor pool from 5 to 6.30 p.m.

Summer concerts in the forest church

Classical music is the focus of the summer concerts in 2021. In the Protestant forest church in Lenggries there will be four more evenings in the classical series.

The Sunday concerts on July 25th, August 8th, August 29th and September 26th are varied: next is an evening of chamber music for recorder, harp, dulcimer, trumpet, organ and harpsichord.

On August 8th, the audience will go on a “musical journey through three centuries”.

Entry to the Protestant church is free, the organizer asks for donations.

A magical garden with a mountain view: the ambience at the Pfaffenleite in Irschenhausen, Icking, is unique. From July 29th to August 8th, it forms the backdrop for the theater summer in Icking. The dance is organized by the company under the apple tree. The Ambacher author Anatol Regnier and Julia von Miller are also in attendance, who will bring a “Scandal in Irschenhausen” to the stage on the opening evening. It's about Regnier's grandparents, Frank and Tilly Wedekind. Ecco Meineke - a regular guest of the theater summer - sings folk songs on Sunday, August 1st. Bettina Ullrich declares her love for tango on August 6th. A piano cabaret with Klaus Köhler on August 8th marks the end of the open-air event series. One of the 200 tickets per event costs between 14 and 24 euros.Information and reservations on 0 81 78/47 83 or on the Internet at www.theatersommer-isartal.org.

Bread Time & Games: Music Open Air

Enjoying culture on the sofa: That was the basic idea behind the Music Open Air Festival in the Tölzer Rosenpark. However, the festival cannot take place as planned - which is not due to Corona: Because of the ship that crashed a few months ago and the subsequent delivery backlog in the Suez Canal, the entire area cannot be equipped with the comfortable canapés. The guests take a seat on chairs under a tent roof - nevertheless, a few wooden deck chairs are set up on the edge of the area. But that doesn't change anything about the wide-ranging cultural program: 25 artists - including highly decorated grandees such as Helmut Schleich (July 30), Oansno (August 15) and Luise Kinseher (August 12) - pick up the microphone here.At the “God of Carnage” by the Munich theater group Wirtshausmannschaft, visitors can expect a world-famous, profound and malicious staging with a Bavarian tongue. Until Sunday, September 5th, the atmospheric rose park will be transformed into an open-air stage. Tickets cost between 24 and 33 euros. Orders can be placed on the Internet - at www.kartenengl.de, brotzeitundspiele.de and in the “Dahoam im Rosengarten” shop in Bad Tölz.

Cultural autumn in Geretsried

Big names ensure the last chord of the festival round in the district in October: At the Kulturherbst in Geretsried, LaBrassBanda (October 2), among others, will rock the theater tent on Jahnstraße.

Annett Louisan (October 10th) is responsible for more soulful tones.

Visitors to “The Magic of Queen” (October 4th) feel the myth of a legendary rock band.

Tickets cost between 14 and 39 euros.

Fans can secure their seats for the performances at www.kulturherbst-geretsried.de.

For the time being, all eleven events are limited to 300 spectators - but the festival management expects to be able to expand the number of tickets.

The “colorful art market” - a small Tollwood, organized by the Isar-Loisach cultural association - is part of the cultural autumn.
